Molinaro’s only publication of instrumental music was a collection of lute pieces printed in Venice in 1599. It includes vocal works, fantasias and dances. This dance is a saltarello, a name suggestions a ‘little hop’ in the dance steps and usually applied to a dance in quick triple time. www.abrsm.org/guitar

Beautiful part of amazing opus (Má Vlast / My Homeland) by Bedřich Smetana. Arranged by Wolf Hoffmann (and little bit me) Played on ESP Horizon II FR and Gibson Les Paul Standard 2008, using Native Instrument Guitar Rig 5 amp simulation. Backtrack made by myself with Cakewalk Sonar X3 Producer. Recorded and mixed in Sonar as well.

Performed by ABRSM examiner Gary Ryan, this arrangement of Take Five is from the ABRSM Guitar syllabus from 2019 and features in the Guitar Exam Pieces book at Grade 5. Take Five appeared on the 1959 LP record Time Out by the American jazz group the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Brubeck composed most of the tracks on the album, using the unconventional time signatures for which he was renowned, but this piece in 5/4 was written by the Quartet’s saxophonist Paul Desmond.

Pavana by Tarrega Abrsm Guitar Grade 7 2019 List B no 10 Abrsm just changed a new syllabus and had some time so recorded this. Some songs are just easier in a way to interpret without mush work such as Tarrega ones, good song for progressing students.








La Catedral by Agustín Barrios was written in 1921. This is the first of the three movements that make up the piece, and it’s sometimes referred to as the ‘Prelude to La Catedral’. Interestingly this movement was added after the 2nd and 3rd movements were complete.
